Hello Substack friends!
Though I would dearly love to be writing daily on here (and have endless content to drone on and on with), I’ve recently (as I am, periodically) overwhelmed with Other Things.
As I seem to indeed be a lifelong member of Barbara Sher’s true Scanner types (someone who loves to do a great number of things and wants to pursue all of them, preferably at once), I am here and there whisked off in a flurry of activity over one interest or the other. Currently it’s my private speech pathology practice.
But here’s just a quick thing: isn’t it freeing to admit to knowing nothing of grand importance??
I can say that with confidence that the single most valuable piece of knowledge I possess (but don’t always remember) is that everything comes down to NOW.
That’s it. In the midst of various states of overwhelm and confusion, Just Now cuts through all of it.
Moving on. But still HERE.
I do have things coming up for you:
A scathing indictment of ASHA’s IMO highly irresponsible covid response
A treatise on persimmons
A new raw food and spirituality book (we are in pretty much final edits!!!!)
More of the Revolver Series
Among other creations in various stages of completion.
My dear friend and editor Chris Nelson has come up with a brilliant idea: releasing essays on Substack; previously published material from my The Brush Fires Essays book, with updated takes on each essay. Yes?
**BTW Brush Fires is on sale for 5 bucks plus some change right now on Amazon. I just picked up four copies—that’s cheaper than my author pricing. Would make a good Christmas gift—just shameless self-promotion, nothing to see here.**
I hope you all are well and happy and enjoying life—I am, as always, toggling between raging over-analysis and joyful Presence.
Happy Pre-Holiday!
